We understand that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work with math, yet that is often how students are treated at school in classes of 25-30 students. Regardless if the student understands the material or not, they are given a grade and the class plods along, sometimes leaving many behind. At EHA, we work with your child as an individual.
At EHA, we create an individual plan with goals with each student and use software (e.g. Khan Academy, DreamBox, udemy, Coursera, EdX) to make sure that each student has achieved mastery of the new skills they are learning. Teachers act as coaches to encourage the student and provide extra help on topics that the student may be struggling with.
Sharpen Fundamental skills
EHA students practice regular drills to sharpen their fundamental math skills and increase their speed and accuracy. Students are encouraged to always set personal best records and track their progress.
Competition Math and Test Taking
Each student is prepared and encouraged to compete in up to 4 math competitions every year. This preparation allows students to work in teams and work on problems with greater depth. Practicing for math competitions will also help them prepare for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT.
